Hi everyone! This is my conclusion of all of the research I have made about Aphrodite. In my blog I have talked about three different things that relate to Aphrodite. My first blog was about how Aphrodite was born from sea foam. The second blog talked about how Aphrodite affected Greek culture. It talked about a temple that Greeks built in honor of her. My third post was about how Aphrodite started the Trojan war. I think that the research that I made is really important. I think that it is really important because it shows people the past and helps people learn lesson to help them in the future. I think that the myths can display problems we have today, but myths exaggerate the problems.

Hi guys. I hope you enjoy learning about how Aphrodite is said to be the person who started the trojan war. 

Aphrodite had a sister named Helen. Helen was married to the king of Sparta. Aphrodite thought that she was much prettier than her sister. One day Paris, a prince of Troy, said that Helen was the most beautiful girl in the world. Later, there was a Greek god wedding. The spirit of disagreement, Eris, came to the wedding even though she was not invited. She tossed a golden apple and said that the apple was for the most beautiful. Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena all wanted the apple. Zeus said that Paris would decide who was the most beautiful. Paris said that the woman that offered him the best gift would be declared the most beautiful. Aphrodite said that she would make Helen fall in love with him. Paris took Aphrodite's gift. On that same day Helen and Paris traveled to Troy, so they could live a happy life together. The king of Sparta heard that his wife Helen was kidnapped by Paris. The king wanted to save Helen, so he gathered many Greek soldiers to defeat Troy. That was the beginning of the Trojan War.

Aphrodite really affected ancient greek culture. Greeks built a temple in honor of her. This temple is called the Temple of Aphrodite. Now there are only fourteen standing columns. There used to be over forty columns. Historians say that this awesome temple was built in 1st century BCE. No statues were found inside of the temple, but there was a statue found just outside the temple. The goddess is stretching out one of her arms. There are a lot of interesting reliefs on the dress that the woman is wearing. There is the sun god and moon goddess, the three graces with Aphrodite in the middle, Aphrodite with three cupids and they are on a goat that has the tail of a fish. I personally think that it is weird for a goat to have a fish tail, but I think that it is still really cool.

Hey guys! How are you? I am awesome because I had a lot of fun researching things about Aphrodite. I have found out a lot of things about how Aphrodite was born and what happened after. When Ouranos was killed his blood mixed with the salt water in the ocean and created Aphrodite out of sea foam. It is weird that she created because of a murder. She washed up on the island Cyprus' shore. When she stepped on the island flowers started to bloom. Birds flew everywhere and animals frolicked across the island. Sounds amazing right? She made the island like a paradise. Three Horai, the goddess of seasons, came to the island and found Aphrodite. Since she was so beautiful they decided to bring her to mount olympus, so the gods could see her. Right when Hera saw Aphrodite she said that she should be married off right away, because if she was not there would be a lot of chaos. Hera was actually right. All of the gods fought over her. Gods offered her all kinds of gifts. Posiden offered her a palace and ocean riches. Hera put a stop to all of the fighting. Since she was the goddess of marriage and family she made Aphrodite marry Hephaestus. Aphrodite agreed to marry him because he said that he would make her the best jewelry (which is awesome) and she knew that she would be able to sneak out with other guys without him knowing (which is not as awesome in my opinion). She was right. She was able to sneak out with out with a lot of guys, including her "secret" boyfriend Ares.
